Dormiveglia

Dormiveglia is a running and jumping game about Quin's adventure to stop the world from falling into an endless slumber. Along with the classic run and jump moves, you use your whip to swing across chasms, move objects, and capture enemies. Combining classic platforming elements with this new mechanic creates novel movement and puzzles, making for an engaging and unusual game.

You play Quinn, who wakes to find the evil sorceress Somnia destroying her realm as she hunts for the four ancient runes that will place the world in eternal sleep. You team up with the other three heroes, travelling the realm to find all the runes before Somnia and end her tyranny.

You traverse the 2D stages, avoiding obstacles and dangers as you go. You can use your whip to swing across gaps, gaining speed and momentum which can, with practice, make movement through the world lightning fast. You can also use it to hit and defeat the enemy nightcrawlers or gather them up to hold and throw as projectiles. It's also good for solving simple environmental puzzles like moving blocks to open up new pathways, potentially revealing secrets and new whip abilities to use.

The result is a fresh take on the platforming genre and updates the classic formula with whip-related abilities. This offers new and unusual ways to move, fight, and customise your character and journey.
