Escape from Ever After (2026) (previously called Flynt Buckler Wakes the Sleepy Castle) is an adventure about a cursed storybook and a grim version of classic characters. You are Flynt Buckler and must explore the world, collect items and defeat enemies to save your growing band of fairytale friends.

The Sleepy Castle is a place where classic bedtime story characters live together peacefully, until a powerful curse corrupted the castle’s storybooks, turning the tales topsy-turvy and unleashing distorted monsters. As Flynt Buckler, you need to dive into the cursed stories, correct the chaos and save the day.

To play, you explore each of the storybook worlds to meet the colourful characters and uncover their secrets. Encounters with monsters are played out in turn-based battles, where move selection and timing are key.

As you progress, you earn an assortment of items, badges, and partners that help with your battles and ensure you always have a trick up your sleeve for the next monster. One moment you’ll be fleeing Lovecraftian terrors while solving a noir murder mystery, and the next you’ll be up against villainous versions of the Three Little Pigs as they try to bulldoze a fairytale forest for their real estate developments.

The result is a beautifully playful game that not only subverts classic stories but also offers a real challenge. Battles are lively, spoils are abundant, and surprises are around every corner in the sleepy castle.
