Play OverviewPlay Overview

Frost (2017) is a puzzle game where you control living particles with gestures to guide them home. Using flocking mechanics the game lets you direct thousands of elements with super simple controls. Each level presents a different scene in which to direct the flocking spirits to their home planets. But it's as much about the beautiful displays of movement you can create as simply solving a puzzle.

"Watch countless beautiful creatures emerge from light, bring balance to a world in constant motion, and unravel its mysteries," says the developer of this game. "It's a tender salute to life. An emotional journey through a dreamlike space."

The game uses swarming behaviour found in nature, to create a fluid puzzle that is about the whole as well as the individual elements. For players of all ages it's an unusual and enjoyable experience. For children and teachers there are some additional educational benefits.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Frost 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 2 years ago.
