Play OverviewPlay Overview

Haak (2022) is a running, jumping and fighting game where you explore an apocalyptic wasteland to find your lost brother. You investigate a dilapidated futuristic city by making well-timed jumps, fighting enemies and developing your skills. Although familiar territory, Haak stands out for combining its semi-deserted cityscapes and fluid traversal to create a coherent whole.

You begin the game in Sanho Ruins and are immediately given the mission of finding your lost brother. Traversing the ruins is your main task, since as you explore you receive weapons, abilities and skills to help you get through each area. To find your brother, you need to travel through the desolate world to uncover the story behind his disappearance, fighting challenging boss enemies during your journey.

As you progress, you unlock more abilities and tools to help you past obstacles. For example, an energy hook that damages enemies and gets you around the levels more easily. You can also find collectibles that offer a glimpse into your brother's disappearance.

This results in an exploration game that combines its fluid platforming with a compelling quest for a lost sibling. Along the way you get to know the futuristic, dark, and sometimes creepy world they found themselves in.
