Play Overview
Haven (2016) is a narrative-traversal adventure about companionship and exploration in space. As star-crossed lovers Yu and Kay, you escape to a forgotten planet to stay together and set up home against the odds. You explore the world around you, able to glide over the plains, clean up the planet from toxic waste, camp, restore the planet, and fight if you have to.
Combat is relatively simple, with you selecting and timing different attacks. You need to coordinate between the two characters and get the rhythm of attacks right to be effective. The greater focus is on the exploration of a huge planet with someone you care about. As you go you collect resources to develop your camp. You can also craft items and food to enhance your abilities.
Throughout the game, there is a focus on the companionship and relationship of the two characters. From the dialogue between them, exploring together to selecting complementary attacks and even mealtimes, hugging and kissing restore health, the game establishes what is essentially a love story set in space.
Available on Steam, GoG, Windows Store, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. Coming early 2021 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
