Play OverviewPlay Overview

How 2 Escape (2023) is a communication puzzle game where you have to reach the front of a dangerous train to pull the emergency brake. You search for hints and codes in each carriage while the clock counts down. The twist is that to succeed you must share information and clues with another player who can't see your screen and uses a smartphone app to help find solutions. It's a game about describing the world and collaborating to find answers.

You play by exploring the carriages of the train you're trapped on, looking for clues escape room style. You communicate your surroundings to a teammate who has a different perspective to you. Locked drawers, mysterious signs and unfamiliar symbols give you information the other player can use to help find the solution and lead to the next part of the puzzle.

Difficulty comes in the form of dead ends. Most of the time, it's tricky to know what to do next. This means you've got to think creatively to beat the timer and progress through to the next carriage. It can also be challenging to describe strange symbols under pressure.

This results in an escape room challenge that rewards calm and clear communication as well as strong teamwork.
