Play Overview
Itta (2020) is a shooting adventure game set in a world filled with big monsters. You play the young girl Itta, who wakes in a strange place surrounded by her dead family and must seek out the powerful beings that did this to her. The only guide you have is a strange spirit in the form of the family cat who gifts her a glowing revolver for protection.
This sets the scene for an against-the-odds adventure through a strange landscape to find her way home. The odds are tough not only because of finding your way and solving puzzles but by the huge number of projectiles, enemies throw at you in this "bullet-hell" genre of game.
It's a dark and violent game, but one that uses these things to tell a story of the personal struggle and trauma of loss. "If there is light, there must be darkness." The game's marketing says, and it's this theme of Yin and Yang that persists throughout.
As you progress you gain new powers and spirits to combat enemies in new ways. You also uncover the cryptic (and sometimes bizarre) crumbling world and its inhabitants. If you get stuck you can freely toggle difficulty to help you move on.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked ITTA 4 years ago. It was re-examined by Thom Robertson and updated 7 weeks ago.

10+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. Younger players need to be able to cope with fast and furious shooting sections where it is hard to survive.
