Play Overview
You open a cafe with your twin sibling but then realise you need to learn to cook and manage your customers. The stakes are raised when the twins discover their mother won't wake up until they have raised a dragon. Now they must deal with parenting, cooking and customer care all at once.
Happily, it's not at all stressful. You work with three quirky employees to find ingredients, improve your menu and ultimately save your mother. Again, unlike other games like Stardew Valley, which require effort and time to speed up progression, Little Dragon's Cafe ticks along at its own pace regardless of your performance.
This disconnection of performance from advancement seems strange at first. However, as you settle into the quirky rhythm of life it becomes refreshing to take on tasks for the enjoyment of completing them, rather than an Animal-Crossing-style capitalist benefit.
You do have goals each day. This involves learning dishes, visiting residents or exploring new areas of the world. This can get a bit repetitive, but again, as you give in to the anxiety-free pacing it's refreshing to pick and choose what you want to do. It's a super simple game and a great place to start for new or young players wanting to try out a farming game.

8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. You need to be able to explore the open world, take on battles and collect ingredients. Back in the cafe, you need good attention to detail and prioritisation to deliver food on time.
