Play Overview
Not Chess (2020) is a puzzle game similar to Chess, but you only have one piece, which morphs into whatever piece you take. It's a simple way of getting to grips with some of the basic rules of chess in a low-pressure, single-player environment, while also providing a play experience that's novel and fun in its own right.
In each level, you start out with a single chess piece on a board scattered with various static pieces. Your movement is defined by whatever your piece is (ie. a Rook, Queen, Pawn, etc.), but each time you take a piece, you become that piece and inherit its movement limitations. Each level is a puzzle where you have a set number of moves and a time limit in which you must try and obtain a coin on the board, after which you progress to the next level.
It offers a fresh twist on Chess and is a relaxing way to practice your skills, and get to grips with the movement of chess pieces.
