Play Overview
Perfect Tides (2022) is a point-and-click coming of age adventure set in 2000. You play Mara as they explore the world, collecting items and talking to the people they meet to unfold a story about the agony and anticipation of being a teen.
Mara is an internet-obsessed young writer who lives on a so-called island paradise. Through four seasons you share a year of Mara's life through the turmoil of family life and mainland public school, and an ever-evolving quest for love, friendship and experience.
Rather than a reimagining (like Return to Monkey Island) Perfect Tides is as if you discovered an unreleased classic 90s-style adventure, right down to the point-and-click interface, inventory, interactions and conversations.
The result is an endearing trip down memory lane that offers a surprising amount of substance. The rich narrative and character-driven story do a good job of telling this story of teenage tensions, hopes and dreams. If you enjoyed this, a sequel is coming in 2024, Perfect Tides Station to Station, about the momentum and whiplash of young adulthood.
