Pitch Black: A Detective's Demise is an adventure game set in a technological noir-detective world. You play using sound alone which offers voice acting and environmental sound effects to enable you to navigate.

You play an enforcer (law officer) living deep in the grime and mystery of District 5. To progress you explore the mean streets as you work to find the perpetrator of a murder. As you traverse the streets you find clues. Meeting drug dealers, thugs, vagabonds, and gipsy children trigger conversations that offer vital information.

Controls are a combination of movement when working through the world, along with bullet dodging left/right if you are in combat. The audio sounds are crisp and immersive. While walking the streets, your feet trudge through puddles, onto bricks and asphalt, and over sewer grates. These distinct sounds allow you to determine your location in the city.
