Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (2024) is a running, jumping and fighting game where you explore the ancient Middle East and defeat mythical enemies. From a side-on view, you traverse the world to uncover secrets and gain abilities to help defeat giant monsters and warriors. It's a return to the simple platforming of the first game in the series but adds a large range of weapons and magical powers. Like the original, it focuses on fluid movement and exploration.

You play Sargon, a Persian warrior with magical abilities on a mission to free Prince Ghassan from malevolent forces. You chase them to the cursed city of Mount Qaf from ancient Middle Eastern mythology to save him and enact punishment on his captors. This involves running and jumping across chasms and over obstacles. You draw on the many abilities you find to gain access to secret routes, shortcuts and new areas.

As you progress you must defeat enemies in fast-paced, extravagant combat. Learning their attack patterns and perfecting your parry timing is essential to avoid taking damage. You steadily expand your arsenal of abilities and weapons and take on ever-stronger monsters that require innovative and inventive strategies to beat, along with plenty of practice.

The result is a game that combines the original game's platforming with fantastical, larger-than-life fights where mastering your moves and knowing your enemy becomes paramount.
