Ready or Not (2021) is a tactical shooting game, where you need restraint and discipline as much as a quick trigger finger. Like Rainbow Six Siege, you take on tactical missions with other people and must work together to apprehend suspects with minimal casualties.
You play an elite firearms operatives looking to defuse hostile situations. Each mission can be tackled in different ways. reaching, clearing, and engaging in stealth tactics is important for success. But you also need to coordinate your squad. Non-lethal options are instrumental to success. You are after arrests and civilian safety rather than a shoot out.
There's a focus on realism. Not the blockbuster explosions and movie cutscenes, though. Here you need to understand how you, your equipment and team work in intimate detail. From bullet penetration to floor plans, negotiations and team communication, Ready or Not is built around realistic non-military combat situations.
