Play OverviewPlay Overview

Schim is a traversal game where you run and jump from shadow to shadow. The world around you (and its shadows) are in motion so you need to carefully plan and time your movement. It's challenging and head-stretching in how it combines the cast of light and your ability to move.

Play involves working out a path through the world by leaping from shadow to shadow. You play as a shadow spirit, looking to hop around the world, while staying in the shadows of objects around the map. This means careful timing and difficult leaps as the people, objects and animals casting the shadows are all moving.

As you progress you can follow moving shadows to access areas of the map. Slowly you figure out your way back to your own shadow and finish the level. Along the way you meet other spirits and discover the story of how things ended up as they did.

The result is an unusual game both aesthetically and interactively. Drawing on themes of Peter Pan and his stitched on shadow, there's an ethereal feel to proceedings here as you strive to get back to the one shadow that is your own.
