Review

The Falconeer (2020) is an action game where you play a pilot who flies a weaponised falcon through dramatic locations. You battle the rivalling factions to uncover the secrets of long-forgotten gods and ancestors. Although the gameplay is all flying and shooting there is a wide variety of enemies, rival falconeers, airships, beetles, manta rays and dragon weavers.

The environment is beautiful and has both weather and daylight cycle. As you spend time fighting battles and exploring, the world seemingly shifts. You can go on missions by flying to various locations, as well as upgrade the capabilities of your Falcon along the way.

You take on missions for your faction and earn currency to upgrade your falcon. This enables you to be more resilient to particular attacks and take on bigger enemies. Bigger bounties are awarded for harder missions, alongside the grind of daily patrols to keep your border safe.
