Play Overview
The Talos Principle 2 (2023) is a puzzle game where you explore and unravel the mystery of a futuristic robot society. You move between zones and solve puzzles by guiding beams of light, manipulating gravity, and switching between robot bodies. It stands out not only for its mind-bending challenges but also for its thought-provoking and nuanced story where you must sift between truth and different points of view.
In the far-flung future, where humans have wiped themselves out, our society and culture live on in a city of super-advanced humanoid robots. You play one such robot and set out on an adventure to uncover the nature of the universe and the reasons for living. As you play, you solve puzzles and unlock new areas, slowly progressing towards an ancient relic of mysterious power as your ideas and beliefs shape the world around you.
As you progress and see more of the world you find equipment you can use to guide and deflect beams of light, walk on walls and alter gravity to move objects. You can even transfer your consciousness between robots to access different areas. But as much as these abilities, the most important factor is deciding how to respond to what the game asks of you. How you respond, and how much you trust what is presented to you, determines the way the game ends.
The result is a game that challenges you not only through complex and intricate puzzles but also through its philosophical narrative. Thinking outside the box to come up with unexpected solutions to the problems you face is hugely rewarding and makes for an engaging experience.
