Train Valley 2 (2015) is a toy train puzzle game where you build a railroad company from the days of the Industrial Revolution into the future. It looks like a kids train-set but simulates real economics of the valley's cities and industries. The result is a combination of a business simulator and a puzzle game all wrapped up in a toy train set.

Play involves planning and placing your railroads so you can earn money by transporting people, packages and resources. You upgrade your locomotives and lines, but must also keep things on schedule and deal with accidents.

As you progress you need to micromanage your railway while also having fun laying out new tracks and routes. As well as the Simulation mode, the Company mode (new in Train Valley 2) offers 50 challenging levels. You can also use the Level Editor to create your own locations and challenges, and play those designed by others.

This open play, and the sheer selection of trains (18 different models to unlock and 45 types of carriage) keeps things fresh. This sits between the super complex Sim City and super simple Mini Metro games to offer a challenge that scales with your ability.

Train Valley: Console edition is a remastered version of the original game, which itself doesn't differ much in gameplay from Train Valley 2, but features a different art style.
