Play OverviewPlay Overview

Unruly Heroes is a hectic martial arts running, jumping and hitting game. You play one of four heroes on a quest to collect all the scroll fragments and restore balance.

It looks and plays like the Rayman platform games, and the team overlaps with that development. Here though, the characters have more varied abilities and can be switched between on the fly for tactical and strategic reasons. If you don't fancy switching, you can play with up to four players, each commanding one character.

The game's story and aesthetic is inspired by the famous Chinese novel Journey to the West. Unruly Heroes tells a similar adventure of four totally opposed, implausible heroes who must collect all the scroll fragments and travel to fantastical worlds to restore balance.

The world is not only lush and lively, but intricately laid out. Although accessible for newcomers, you need to learn the motion of each hero to progress. Along the way you face a mix of jumping, climbing, unexpected challenges, and intense combat as you face a horde of enemies and memorable boss characters. Each area evolves the play in new ways, which keeps the action fresh.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 7 because it features mild violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to human-like characters. Violence is mostly non-realistic and minor in nature. The heroes can attack enemies in a variety of ways but the reaction to attacks remains similar, with enemies flashing when hit and dissolving into particles when defeated. Some of the 'boss fights' feature creatures that may be scary to younger children.
