Play OverviewPlay Overview

Wonky Works is a running, jumping and shooting game. You play as Wonky and recruit computer-controlled helpers as you traverse a the world, shoot enemies and use your grapple to access hard to reach areas.

Play involves running around, shooting and jumping. You use one stick for movement and the other for shooting. As you gain new abilities and improve your skill you can access new areas. Some of these you can get to using your grapple that lets you hang onto specific elements in the world.

The result is a game that looks like a classic 8-bit title from the 80's but offers a modern challenge. It's reminiscent of games like Bionic Commando, Ikari Warriors and Contra, but has a feel all its own.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Wonky Works 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 20 months ago.
