WordHunters is a world-travelling word game you play on the PlayStation using a smartphone or tablet rather than a controller. The smartphone and tablet screens make picking letters easy for all ages and the camera on these devices is used to put each player’s photo in the game.

If you score the highest in a round you can choose two letters from the name of the current geographical location to complete your special four-letter word. This adds real tactics to choose the next destination, particularly as you see other players progress with their words as they board the plane.

Wordhunters works well in larger families as you don’t need to buy expensive controllers for each player – you just use the devices you already have. The focus on word challenges makes it simple to understand, while the secret word you are collecting letters for makes the choice of countries tactical. Players can join and leave the game whenever they want. You can even play in a different language (French, Italian, German, Castilian Spanish or Latin American Spanish) to help build a foreign vocabulary.
