Play involves traversing the ruins of a great city, navigating streets and the broken husks of great skyscrapers and structures, and using your sword to defeat enemies. Combat is fast-paced and relies on the precise timing of attacks, dodges, and parries of incoming fire.
You progress further by solving simple puzzles, such as moving blocks to unlock doors. This leads you to find material to customise your sword's statistics: speed, reach, and power. Learning to experiment with different styles of sword and developing strategies and tactics that play to your strength is an essential part of the game and core to swiftly dispatching the toughest enemies.
