Beyond Eyes (2015) is a game about a blind girl, Rae, who uses her senses to visualise the world around her. As you play, the game only shows you parts of the world you can hear. This means you can see immediately around you, and further away if things are making noises.
“Rae lost her eyesight in an accident and the experience left her traumatised. Fearing loud noises and public places, she hardly ever leaves her house.” As the game starts she is joined by a feline companion, Nani, who then goes missing. You help Rae as she searches for Nani.
It’s an unusual way to experience the world, in a small way, as it is for someone with limited or no sight.
