Dread Dawn (2024) is a shooting and survival game where you face hordes of zombies on your school's doorstep. Your goal is to survive as long as possible by finding tools and weapons, building defences, and killing lots of zombies. It's unique because of the sheer number of zombies and the scary idea of being stranded at school.
You play by exploring a quarantined city facing an endless zombie onslaught, stuck at school after missing your evacuation bus. You search for resources, weapons, tools and more to build a base. Supplies are often guarded by bloodthirsty zombies, so you have to fight your way to the best materials and gear.
As you progress, you encounter highly dangerous areas like prisons and hospitals where the zombie disease has spread rapidly. It's important to use strategy and think ahead about how to deal with lots of enemies before rushing in. You can also plant food in your camp after finding seeds in the city, or raise chickens for eggs and meat to trade with other survivors.
This results in a combination of gory zombie killing with the harsh and unforgiving need to survive.
