Play OverviewPlay Overview

Wobbly Life (2020) is a lively open-world game where you explore an island with your friends to find quests, mini-games and earn money. Play involves finding jobs to do, earning money and buying lots of everyday things - but the real play is around the edges of all this. It stands out for offering a huge playground of possibilities that lets you solve problems your own way - and quite often have fun in unintended ways.

It's a simple game where you can do what you want. The physics of the world responds to your interactions in a relatively realistic (albeit wobbly) way. You control your arms directly with the triggers to grab onto things. Because of the tactile nature of all this, the fun players have in games they make up for themselves as much as the missions or challenges the developer has created.

As you explore the world you discover new locations that offer different things to do. Perhaps you'll decide to work as a pizza delivery guy. Or how about a nuclear waste disposal person? Then there are jobs in the hospital or garbage collection. If you don't want to work like this, how about getting a pet or collecting things to put in the museum?

To progress you need to find a way to earn money. This then lets you go shopping for clothes or vehicles. Get enough money and you can buy your own house. Don't fancy a house? How about a shack in the woods? Too rustic? Sounds like you need your own mansion with a helipad.

The result is a huge playground to explore, things to do, vehicles to race and houses to decorate. It's a lot like a Roblox game, but with just four people you know and without all the in-game purchases. It's a lovely game that brings the creative joy of the playground into the living room.
