Beyond: Two Souls (2013) is from the same developer as Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. Although not a series, they follow a similar style and approach. They provide a filmic interactive experience of a story that branches in substantial ways depending on your choices and interactions.

While other games offer a similar branching style, these are more dramatic in their storytelling and how substantially you can change the outcome. The game follows three key characters. It's possible that one or more of these can die, immediately cutting whole swathes of the story.

Beyond: Two souls is about a teenager, Jodie, who discovers she has a supernatural power. It focused on employing movie actors in the main roles. Jodie is portrayed by actress Ellen Page. Willem Dafoe co-stars as Nathan Dawkins, a researcher in the Department of Paranormal Activity and Jodie's surrogate-father-figure.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Beyond: Two Souls 4 years ago. It was re-examined by Ben Kendall and updated 15 months ago.
