Play Overview
Inks (2016) is a messy pinball game that combines puzzle with platforming. It's like a traditional game of pinball, however you are aiming to splash the ball through each coloured area rather than rack up high scores.
Play involves using the flippers to direct the ball to each of the coloured areas. You can use a number of flippers and choose whether the ball is returned from the left or right when you lose it.
Along with the action puzzle fun, the novelty here is the Jackson Pollock style art work you create by playing. Not only the splashes of paint, but the trail the ball leaves after rolling through it. Vivid layers of ink build up, recording a visual history of your progress as you perfect your score.
You can't lose but the challenge is to complete a level in the fewest number of hits possible to obtain the ultimate goal, the star ball.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Inks 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 2 years ago.
