Play Overview
Pikuniku (2019) is an adventure where you play a red creature, Piku, on a mission to harvest the colourful world's resources. You interact with different objects to trigger switches and open doors. You can also lasso your legs to swing from hooks or curl into a ball and roll to get to new areas faster.
As you progress you find villages where you can buy items to wear. Touted as a "delightful dystopian adventure, about making people happy" it's all a little bizarre, but good intriguing fun. But more than this, it's the sense of other-worldliness and visual narrative that makes this stand out from other games for kids.
The theme of helping the people you meet continues throughout the game and extends to the cooperative mode where you need to work together to win.
