Play Overview
Alien Hominid HD (2004) is a running and shooting game where you play an alien, fighting secret agents. Play is a simple challenge of progressing to the right of each level, whilst dispatching the on-rushing enemy humans. It's simple classic arcade-style fun for two players and stands out for tongue-in-cheek antics and strange weapons.
You start with a simple blaster along with a close-combat melee attack. These are extended with grenades and more advanced moves like rolling under shots, jumping on and biting off enemies' heads, temporarily scaring other enemies, and digging underground to drag enemies down with them. As you progress you can find power-ups, drive vehicles, pilot a UFO and even ride on top of a Yeti.
The result is a shooting game that doesn't take itself too seriously - not seriously at all. Sitting somewhere between arcade classics like Metal Slug and films like Men in Black it's a strange combination of parts that are surprisingly well-fitted together.
