Assassin's Creed Identity (2016) is an action-adventure video game that takes the city exploration, combat and narrative adventure to mobile devices. Set during the Italian Renaissance, you explore Rome, Firenze, and Monteriggioni as one of four different Assassins.

Play is similar to the main console games, although made simpler to accommodate the lower power and different controls of a mobile device. You can perform parkour running and climbing, blend into the crowd to hide and, of course, assassinate targets. If you are discovered you enter combat, with attacks, blocks and skills based on your character.

You select this persona at the start: combat-orientated Berserker, stealthy Shadow Blade, versatile Trickster or agile Thief. Each one has different abilities. You can level them up by earning skill points through the missions. Characters can be further equipped via the shop where you purchase items with earned currency as well as in-game purchases.

While the simplified interactions and controls will feel limited for those more used to the console game, Assassin's Creed Identity offers a tailored experience that works well on mobile. There is less depth and story, but this is supplemented by a greater focus on customisation.
