Play OverviewPlay Overview

I Am Caterpillar is a traversal adventure game where you are a caterpillar who doesn't want to be a butterfly. You crawl up trees, leap between lily pads and wriggle through dank underground places as you resist your destiny. It's unusual because of how you get around, but also for the reluctant hero facing their day of transformation and doing everything to stop it.

A big part of the fun is the joy of moving around the world as the simulated caterpillar. You can move along and explore almost every surface as you go on your journey of discovery. Wriggling through treetops, and climbing giant mushrooms, you are a bug on a journey to take control of your destiny and explore an enchanting new world along the way.

The result is a quaint and laid-back adventure through verdant environments. There's a lovely sense of disorientation both in terms of which way is up and the confusion of changing from one stage of life to another.

Our examiner, Jo Robertson, first checked I Am Caterpillar 10 months ago. It was re-examined by Ellen Robertson and updated 7 weeks ago.
