Play OverviewPlay Overview

Kibu is a simulation game where you play a lone monk, tend your farm and temple, and hone your martial arts skills. You must expand your farm with the resources you collect, grow new crops and construct walls and buildings, then set out and fight against hostile forces that threaten the land. It's a familiar set-up but stands out for how simple and direct the play is. It combines a meditative life simulation with flowing traditional combat and exploration.

You play a solitary red panda monk who must forge a life for himself and vanquish the darkness spreading throughout the land. You construct a temple as a place to live and grow crops to eat and brew into tea and explore the vast world. From open plains to dense bamboo forests, you hone your skills with your staff and defeat enemies.

Play involves gathering resources to expand your homestead by mining, chopping trees, and foraging for crops and plants to grow. You then set out on adventures into the world, finding secrets and defeating enemies in melee combat with your staff. Before you set out, you can brew different teas with the plants from your farm, with each ingredient creating a unique tea which grants you special abilities you can use to fight more proficiently.

The result is a game that combines carefully tending to and improving your home and crops with precise martial arts-inspired combat to create a unique experience. Slowly mastering your combat abilities as you perfect your temple and grow your crops makes for a demanding yet meditative and rewarding adventure.
