Play Overview
The combination of narrative and brawling works well for the younger audience this show was aimed at. With animation and voice acting to match the show itself, there's a lot to enjoy wandering around the hub space. You meet characters both new and old, take on mini-missions and fetch quests and generally work to earn power-up cards that you can use in the fights. During the battles, you call on your collection of cards to pull off over-the-top attacks.
As you progress you build a considerable collection of cards you get to add them to your album. This drives the collection in its own right but is also a chance to customise your moves and special abilities by placing the card in the related slots. As well as the cards you can develop your character's stats, although this does take quite some time.
The result is a game that's a lot of fun and very approachable for younger players, without feeling dumbed down or less exciting than Castle Crashers. Although it's single-player only, there's a lot of enjoyment to be had here for youngsters and fans of the show.
