Play Overview
Ollie & Bollie: Outdoor Estate (2018) is an adventure game in a simulated world. You help Ollie and Bollie, who are two bird-like people, look after their farm in the countryside by completing simple tasks. It may sound familiar but stands out because it gives very little instruction and allows you to explore and discover the world and what you can do in it through experimentation.
It works best as a two player cooperative game, but can be completed on your own with a computer controlled second character helping you. Play involves exploring the level and finding the to-do list which gives you four simple tasks: plant an orchard, build a barn, fix the cart and return the sheep.
As you explore and progress you discover how to grab things and interact with the world. In particular, like Moving Out, Ollie and Bollie need to cooperate to use various tools and carry heavy objects.
It's ideal for a parent and child to play together. It's super gentle, non-violent but still offers enough challenge to develop teamwork and fine motor skills. Older players may also enjoy the open challenge here, although will be a little quicker to finish.
