Olliefrog Toad Skater is a skateboarding sports adventure where you play a cute frog or toad pulling stunts at their local skatepark. You play by rolling, ollie-ing, grinding, and kickflipping to score points and explore the world.
It looks cartoony but works hard to emulate the classic games like Tony Hawks. This means it plays like a 90s skate game where you learn combos for the different flatland tricks, flip tricks, grab tricks, grinds and wallrides.
Along with the skating there's loads of characters to meet, as well as lots of ways you can customise your amphibian skater - hats, glasses, wigs, fake moustaches and beards, body colours and a host of accessories to make your little frog look like a duck if you wanted to.
The result is a game that's serious about its combo-controlled skating, but light-hearted about everything else. It's tough to master but as you progress you uncover new layers of tricks you can put together. Whether you play to score points or go on a skating adventure it's a great way into the world of skating video games.
