Open Roads (2024) is an adventure game about a girl who finds out that her grandma has a different past than she thought. The girl and her mother go on a journey to look deeper into her grandma's life by revisiting abandoned family properties and looking through old notes and letters that were kept secret.
The game is about the girl, Tessa, and what she discovers through her investigations but it's also about how she bonds with her mother as they go on this trip together. Open Roads is an interactive story where you progress through the game as more about her grandma's secret life is revealed.
Playing from the perspective of the girl, you pick up and move things in different directions to uncover and expose flaws in the letters and pictures about her grandma. Then on the journey to the next destination, you can relax in the car, fiddling with the radio and chatting with your mum.
