Play OverviewPlay Overview

PK XD (2019) is an online open world game where you connect with other players as you build houses, choose your appearance and play mini games. Like Roblox, it's a social-first experience driven by ever changing content and seasonal themes. It creates an experience that can seem confusing and chaotic at first, but shares many qualities with the playground: self expression, entertainment and socialization.

To play you first create your character by picking skin, hair, outfit and giving them a name. You then enter the bright toy-like world with things to do, collect and play. As you meet others they can request to by your friend and chat using the preset phrases.

As you progress you earn coins to purchase more clothing and style options. This also lets you design, decorate and upgrade your home. Out and about you can visit the school, playground, and a large swimming pool. As is the way with these games you can also purchase coins with real money, or watch in-game adverts to speed things up.

A big part of the enjoying for children is the wider community. Others like to not only communicate in the game, but produce and watch videos and content in social spaces. Although some caution is needed here, particularly if children want to migrate to the second places of this community (Discord, Instagram and so on) it's the social aspect that creates a sense of belonging.
