Play OverviewPlay Overview

Phantom Abyss (2021) is a running and jumping game where you charge through temples to get to the exit. Your only tool is a whip that interacts with objects and can propel you forward. Along the way are numerous traps and difficult jumps to avoid. There are thousands of procedurally generated temples in the game, but you are only allowed a single attempt at each one. If you die another player gets to try to beat it and as they do, sees the ghost of your attempt.

The result is a platform game where you can see other people's failed attempts as you charge into the temple together. You can learn from their mistakes and take advantage of their successes. Some temples you encounter will have tens of failed attempts and others will have none.

As you progress you recover keys from chests. These enable you to access deadlier sections of the temple that house more coveted relics. The more difficult a relic is to obtain, the greater the reward - the final Legendary Relic of a temple allows you to claim the whole temple so that it's gone forever.

You can also offer up your collected treasures at altars in the game to gain blessing for the rest of the run. Collect as much treasure as you can to please the gods and gain a double jump, glide jump, extended slide, damage protection, and more!

In a wider family group, you can share the Temple Code if you fail so others can give it a go. Or you can share your Adventure Code so others can see a playlist of temples that you have attempted.
