Play OverviewPlay Overview

Quadrilla (2023) is a puzzle game that combines line-clearing and mine-digging in a race to forge a path and stay ahead of the ever-descending mineshaft. Play is a combination of mining and Tetris, where you use your droid to dig out and arrange block lines to clear a way forward before you run out of screen. It stands out for enabling you to mine any Tetris block you need but balancing this with mining challenges to create a more-ish challenge.

It's a game about forward-planning and block placement but with more going on than standard Tetris. In freeing up blocks to complete lines you need to be careful not to leave unsupported blocks that will fall on you. Complete consecutive lines or trigger chain reactions to score multipliers and combos.

As you progress you work through different zones each with new types of blocks. Some are fixed in place and can't be moved, while others can only be placed next to certain others. As the pressure mounts, you need to burrow in and around the space working not only from the top down but from the bottom up or the middle out.

The result is a puzzle game with a focus on forward planning to get high scores. It offers simple arcade fun where you dig out and re-arrange blocks, clear lines and carve a path.
