Play OverviewPlay Overview

Quadroids (2024) is a puzzle-platform game where you jump over obstacles and sacrifice minions to get to the finish as fast as possible. There's just a single button to make your minion characters jump, however you must control four at once. It stands out for this unusual challenge of managing four screens at once and progressing all the characters each with a different button.

You play as an alien overlord, pressing a single button to make each minion jump. They automatically run, so timing when to jump is important. Avoiding deadly traps like spikes and fire, you traverse each level toward a teleporter by jumping onto platforms and bouncing off walls or other minions. It sounds simple, but because you have four screens to deal with at once, coordination and prioritisation are paramount.

As you progress, screens fill up with minions for you to direct and obstacles become harder to overcome. Just the challenge of controlling minions simultaneously is enough, but often creative and strategic thinking is needed to complete a level. For example, sending some minions into an acid bath to create a makeshift bridge with their bodies.

This results in a challenging game that leans on an unusual set of skills. In addition to the usual quick reactions, you need to be good at prioritising actions and dealing with the mounting pressure of multiple dangers at once.
