Recursed

Recursed (2016) is a puzzle game where you must reach the crystal in each room using blocks, keys and chests. The twist is that the chests contain other rooms with items you need and can retrieve. It stands out for the mind-bending puzzle design that lets you nest chests and rooms inside each other to find recursive ways to get what you need to get to the crystal.

It's a puzzle game where the rooms are items and the items are rooms. Chests contain rooms, but can also be taken in and out of other rooms. As is the way with these kinds of games, it starts simply but soon you need to rearrange, duplicate and alter the structure of the world to get to the crystal.

The result is a puzzle where the structure of the world can be twisted to your advantage. There's no way to die, no enemies to fight and no holes to fall in or spikes to hit. The only tool you need is logic.
