Play OverviewPlay Overview

Skate Story is a skateboarding game that focuses on the skill, weight and locomotion of controlling the board. Running through the game is a story where you explore the underworld beneath New York City.

You are a demon in the Underworld, made out of glass and pain. The Devil has given you a skateboard with a simple deal: Skate to the Moon and swallow it and you shall be freed. You ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through the ash-filled world as you learn to master your weight and motion.

The controls make heavy use of the sticks, to give a sense of control like Skate but with even greater emphasis on the heaviness of pushing yourself forward through the city. The developer describes it as Tony Hawk meets Journey.

Skate fast to destroy vicious demons, help a forgetful frog, and save other tortured souls on your journey from a fragile beginner to a hardened skater. Push through hell and discover The Devil’s greatest weakness: humility, perseverance, and a disgustingly sweet backside tailslide.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Skate Story 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 10 months ago.
