Grimoire has captured the elemental spirits. Without their protection, dangerous monsters have appeared and the world is being thrown into chaos. You work to help free the woodland spirits by dealing with the the seven bosses. Controls are tight and simple to learn. Unlike other platform games, things are kept simple with just a few powers (Freeze, Fire, Light and Shock). Levels offer a bit of variety of modes. Some advance on their own so you have to keep up. Others flip the colours into silhouettes or add a doppelganger character who chases you. Then there are the boss encounters.
The result is a bright, friendly game that offers a challenge without ever feeling high pressure. You are likely to die quite a bit but it always feels fair and gets you back to the action to try again.

7+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Even younger players can enjoy this as they hone their timing and jumping skills. The visuals are friendly and you can quickly improve as you go - as long as you have some patience for dying. There is game of a similar title from the same developer that's a simpler option for younger kids Ember Kaboom.
