Play Overview
Your aim is to collectively complete several missions before your enemy manages to deplete the resolve of the people who live in your land. You move your Character figures across the board, which is a top-down map of Sherwood Forest, to locations named in the Story book’s missions. You must try to stay in safe shaded areas so that you avoid confrontations with your enemies. As you move across the board, you land on small tiles, flipping them over to discover smaller side quests and battles, which you must resolve before moving on with your larger missions.
As you progress, more enemies are added to the board, making your missions and side quests harder. If you take too many turns, then the resolve of the people dissipates completely, and you lose. However, you can also find resources that when used well support you to complete your missions.
This is a game of exploration, which is driven by the narrative contained in the Storybook. The mechanics of the game are simple and are taught to you slowly as you pass through the first quest, making this a great first foray for any family seeking a mythical adventure.
