Play OverviewPlay Overview

The Baby in Yellow (2023) is a life simulation babysitting game where you have to look after a baby with demonic powers. Play starts with feeding and reading to the baby, but things soon become more challenging as the child starts to try and take over control. It's a clever twist on the escape room challenge with the creepy baby making things feel edgy.

The Baby In Yellow is a game that started as a web game inspired by the book of short stories The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers. It's a tongue-in-cheek horror game where you must look after a suspicious baby and survive his attempts to take control. As you progress through each of the chapters, you must placate the child by keeping him well-fed, clean and most importantly, entertained.

What emerges from the unusual premise is a well-made puzzle game where you need to find and use items to progress. In one example you need to find film for a camera, put it in the camera to take a picture. You then need to use the darkroom and chemicals to develop the photograph to progress to the next room.

The result is a game that requires not only nerves of steel but a clear head for the intricate and well-made logic puzzles.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 12 for Moderate violence, Horror.

The violence revolves around the scary baby. It rotates its head 360 degrees like in horror films and has demonic-looking eyes. The way you treat the baby is also disturbing: it gets flung around like a rag-doll in different situations.

In addition to the visual violence and horror jump-scares the game also includes some creepy writing. "Come join me in my dreams, stay forever in my head," the child taunts. "Feed the baby you monster," you are told while playing.
This game includes adverts on some platforms that are watched to unlock additional content. Note that these adverts are not covered by the age rating and may include older-rated content.

Skill Level

10+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. It's also important to ensure children understand in-game purchases and have spending limits set-up. You need to be able to stay focused on the puzzles while the horror aspects of the game try to distract you. Logical thinking and problem-solving are also helpful for this game
