Play Overview
The Shijima family have suffered a string of inexplicable deaths over the past century. You play novelist Haruka Kagami who takes on solving the four murder cases. Each of the three episodes is made of three phases.
- Incident Phase: Where you watch the murder from start to end.
- Reasoning phase: Find and combine Clues and Mysteries to create a hypothesis that leads you down different paths of investigation.
- Solution Phase: Acuse the killer and strike back as they try and refute your claims

While watching live-action sequences, players help solve murders and determine culprit(s) by examining clues and character interactions. Crime scenarios are sometimes depicted in the form of humanoid/silhouetted figures enacting crimes, with accompanying blood-splatter effects. Live-action sequences are presented after crimes have been solved (i.e., correct hypotheses): characters getting poisoned, stabbed, and slashed at. Blood pools sometimes appear underneath victims' bodies. Some sequences depict people drinking alcohol at a bar; main characters falling over drunk; conversations about being drunk. The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story is a story of life and death. In uncovering the mystery of the Shijima family's chain of inexplicable deaths spanning a century, you will uncover acts of violence, crime and death. Your investigations will contain imagery of blood, drugs and violence. The game contains adult themes and scenes some may find distressing.
