Play Overview
Unheard (2019) is a murder mystery puzzle game. A crime has been committed and you most solve the case by exploring the area and listening to people. It's unusual in that you need to deduce the culprit by only having access to audio files.
Play involves exploring the floor plan of the crime scene with various dotted circles that represent people. Your first task is to determine who the players are and match the correct name to the correct circle. You then have a series of questions to answer involving the crime.
You control a detective who can move around the scene listening in on conversations and seeing past actions. You cannot interact with the people as what you are hearing are recordings of past events. But by listening carefully you will discover clues that will enable you to unravel the mystery and finally deduce who did what.
It's an ideal game for those who enjoy a good crime novel or radio play. The fact that you are not dealing with physical evidence, fingerprints, DNA etc is unusual for a detective game, but the use of audio, and the way the stories develop is well thought out and just as involving.
