Play Overview
Wood and Weather is a simulation game where you play god in a wooden toy city. You interact with the world using your floating blue hand to change switches and control the weather. It's an intriguing game that offers all manner of ways to play but mostly is about unleashing unplanned weather on the wooden toy citizens (and dealing with the consequences of this over time).
As you guide your hand around the world, you fly, walk, and manipulate the open world through a range of toybox interactions. As you do, the items and people you touch are added to your compendium. You have conversations with the local wooden characters who ask you for things and tell you about their lives as they make their place in the world.
As you progress, it becomes clear you can have more of an impact in this place that first appears. Moving things around, controlling the weather and talking to locals is just the start. Because the world is made with real physics. your interactions combine to have both intended and unintended consequences.
The result is a game about tinkering in a toybox city. You slowly get to know the toys that live there and set about impressing and inspiring them to fulfil their life aspirations. Plan a party. Put on a drive-in movie. Deal with the garbage. Or just sell ice creams. It looks like a city builder but turns out to be a life builder.
