Play OverviewPlay Overview

Yahaha (2022) is a social platform for creating multiplayer games, playing those made by others, and hanging out with friends in a virtual world. Games are built by combining simple commands and objects rather than complicated code. Artificial Intelligence is available to help you create ideas, characters and designs. The simplicity of game creation and the ever-changing array of games, from shooters to horror adventures and party games, as well as educational experiences and live events, make it a novel and evolving frontier.

Once you've installed it and created an account (which is free), you can choose between making and playing games. New games are always being made, and what's popular changes quickly: recreations of popular games, hide-and-seek, racing games, shooters, and party games are all represented.

If you decide to make a game, you can choose a world template, or start from scratch. Rather than relying on users understanding how to code, you instead use commands and objects (called Assets in the video game industry) to build your vision. Noteworthy is the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence that can provide ideas or stories and generate locations.

In addition to games, Yahaha also has a more social "Metaverse" aspect: there are live events where you can watch concerts or videos of different games with friends, brands can advertise their services, and you can shop for digital goods and host meetings within the virtual world.

The result is a platform that not only enables you to play countless multiplayer games across many genres and styles, but also to create games, complete with stories, characters, and different mechanics in unique worlds. All this is possible without the need to understand code or how games are made. It's this ease of creation and play, paired with its social, virtual world and community that make it stand out as a unique and exciting space for play and creativity.

Our examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked Yahaha 3 months ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 3 months ago.
