Play Overview
Do Not Feed the Monkeys (2018) is an adventure game where you sit at a computer and spy on live video feeds of various events and characters. Your job is to gather information about "the monkeys" while also looking after your character's health and apartment rent.
As you watch, the world and its inhabitants play out in front of you. The temptation is to intervene, but this comes with stern warnings from the Club with the threat of "expulsion". It's basically a resource management game where the on-screen shenanigans are a distraction from that task. These tasks are simple point and click activities that are usually solves by combining items in your inventory. There are different endings to the game, depending how well you do. And if you do fail you have to start again from the beginning.
The game plays with the idea of right and wrong. You are told not to interact with the people under surveillance, but it is possible to do so (and provides bonuses while also endangers your). In this way it explores the concept of voyeurism and issues related to mass surveillance and social media.
