Frogun (2022) is a traversal game where you use a frog-shaped gun to interact with the world and navigate the levels. You play Renata, who comes from a family of explorers, archaeologists and inventors but finds herself alone in the jungle. It's a classic platform game but with a modern twist of the frog-shaped grappling hook (who is also your best friend).

Play involves exploring colourful 3D levels, pulling levers, triggering buttons, avoiding lethal traps and dealing with adorable enemies. You use your gun to grab items, move blocks and generally get through each challenge.

Each level has bonuses for finishing quickly or not taking damage. There are also lots of secret areas and shortcuts to finish by mastering the grappling mechanics. Along the way, you can collect emblems by fulfilling level-specific challenges.

The result is a game with real attention to detail. It looks simple but the challenge is far from it. Whether on your own or taking turns with kids it's a great introduction to 3D platform action games.
